The next thing that you need to learn is how to prime your model. Priming is the process of applying a thin coat of primer before you begin painting. This helps to seal the surface of the model and also makes it easier to apply the paint.
Next you need to learn how to apply the base color. The base color is the color that you use to cover the majority of the model. The reason why you would do this is so that you can keep the model from getting dirty. You want to avoid dirt and grime from building up on the model.
The final step in the process is to apply the highlight color. The highlight color is the color that you want to use to bring out certain details on the model. For example, if you are doing a model of a fighter jet you might want to use a bright blue color to show the pilot’s helmet.
Now that you know what the steps are you need to follow in order to paint your model, you can begin to get better at it. There are many different books and websites that you can find online that will teach you how to paint your model.
If you want to improve your skills you can join a local club or even an online club that has members that are willing to help you learn. Many people have found that they have learned more by asking questions of other members than they ever did by reading a book.
