What Is Liver Disease?
The human body is composed of cells and tissues. These are living organisms that constantly reproduce and die, which in turn causes waste products to accumulate inside the body. The liver is an important organ for the elimination of toxins and other substances from the blood. It also helps in the synthesis of certain hormones and vitamins. It is also responsible for detoxifying the body and preventing it from getting infected by harmful bacteria and viruses.
Liver disease can be caused by many factors such as viral infections, heavy alcohol consumption, excessive intake of fatty foods, and some drugs. There are different types of liver diseases. Hepatitis is one of them. Hepatitis can be caused by several different viruses. Viral hepatitis can cause the following:
* Hepatitis A
* Hepatitis B
* Hepatitis C
* Hepatitis D
Hepatitis B and C are the most common types of viral hepatitis. Hepatitis B and C are transmitted through contact with infected blood or body fluids. They can also be transmitted through sexual contact. Hepatitis A and D are not very common. They are transmitted through contaminated food and water.
Hepatitis is usually treated with medication. However, if the virus is already present in the body, it cannot be cured with medication alone. This means that treatment will have to be continued until the symptoms disappear. The duration of treatment depends on how severe the condition is. In some cases, there is no cure for hepatitis. In these cases, the only option is to live with the condition.
Hepatitides are classified according to the type of virus that causes the condition. They are also classified according to the stage of infection. Hepatitis A and B are acute. They are characterized by the sudden onset of symptoms. Chronic hepatitis, on the other hand, develops slowly over time. It is characterized by the presence of symptoms for more than six months.
